The grounds are kept entirely through the generosity of the families connected to this place.
Why your gift matters
Oakhaven Cemetery charges no more than it must, and earns nothing for anyone. Plot fees cover a plot; they do not cover a century of mowing, of frost-heaved walls reset, of old trees pruned and older stones straightened. That work is paid for by the care fund — and the care fund is built, gift by gift, by people who love this place.
Every donation, of any size, goes to the grounds. There is no staff drawing a salary from it and no margin taken out of it. It is, very plainly, neighbours keeping a promise to neighbours.
Ways to give
Online. The quickest way to give is through our secure payment page. You will be taken to our payment processor to complete your gift; the cemetery never sees or stores your card details.
By mail. Cheques may be made payable to Oakhaven Cemetery and sent to the mailing address below. A receipt will be returned to you for your records.
In memory or in honour. Many gifts are made in memory of someone buried here. Tell us the name and we will note it in our records and, if you wish, inform the family.
Bequests. The care fund has been carried, more than once, by someone who remembered the cemetery in their will. If you are considering a bequest, the trustees would be honoured to talk with you.
A note on tax
Oakhaven Cemetery is a registered non-profit cemetery association. Gifts may be tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law; please keep your receipt and consult your tax advisor.
